Saraswati Puja, one of the Hindu community's major religious festivals, is being celebrated across the country, reports media.

The Puja is celebrated every year on the fifth day of the bright fortnight of the month of Magh, as it is believed that the goddess of wisdom and knowledge was born on this day.

At many educational institutions and temples, Hindu devotees, particularly students, celebrate the Puja. However, because educational institutions are closed this year owing to Covid-19, the puja is being celebrated on a smaller scale.

President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday greeted the Hindu community on the occasion of Saraswati Puja.

Dhakeshwari Temple and Jatiya Press Club have organised Saraswati Puja.
