High Court Rules in Favour of Zayed Khan

A High Court bench has declared that actor Zayed Khan is the general secretary of Bangladesh Film Artistes Association.

The bench of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khandaker Diliruzzaman announced the verdict on Wednesday.

The 17th edition election of the association was held on January 28. Noted actor Ilias Kanchan was elected president and Zayed Khan was re-elected as the general secretary.

Later, Nipun, the general secretary candidate, lodged a written complaint, asking for the cancellation of Zayed Khan.

The Appeal Board of the Election Commission to the Bangladesh Film Artistes’ Association’ polls declared Nipun as uncontested general secretary after it cancelled the candidature of Zayed Khan, on the basis of allegation brought by Nipun.

Later, Zayed Khan went to court.
