No Unbottled Soybean, Palm Oil Allowed to Sell: Commerce Min

The Commerce Ministry took a decision that no unbottled soybean and palm oil will not be allowed to sell after May 31 and December 31 respectively.

Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi made the disclosure after an inter-ministerial meeting on Wednesday (March 02) afternoon.

The Commerce Ministry has also rejected the proposal of hiking prices for edible oil raised by the country’s importers companies. The administration will take strict legal actions against those who will try to increase prices in any ill manner.

Earlier on February 6, the government increased prices of edible oil by Tk 8 per liter in coordinating with the international market.

On February 27, importers raised a proposal to fix Tk 180 per increasing Tk 12 per liter for bottled edible oil.
