Int. Flight Service from India to Resume on March 27

The operations of all international commercial flights to and from India will resume from March 27 onwards, according to a statement issued by the Director-General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) of India here this evening.  

The move comes in view of increased vaccination coverage against Covid-19 across the world and after consultation with the stakeholders, it said. 

"After having recognized the increased vaccination coverage across the globe and in consultation with the stakeholders, the Government of India has decided to resume scheduled commercial international passenger services to/from India from 27.03.2022," the DGCA said. 

The operations of commercial international flights to and from India were first suspended on March 23, 2020, soon after the Covid-19 pandemic that caused havoc across the world.  

The DGCA said that international operations shall resume with "strict adherence" to the health ministry's guidelines for the same.
