Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that Bangladesh is now a role model in disaster management. The government has been able to bring down the death toll in the disaster to a single digit due to the pre-preparedness and use of modern technology.

She made the remarks in a message given on Wednesday (March 9) on the occasion of 'National Disaster Preparedness Day-2022'.

The Prime Minister said, "I am happy to know that National Disaster Preparedness Day (NDPD) is going to be celebrated across the country like every year." This year's theme 'Success of Mujib Year, dynamism in disaster preparedness' has been justified and timely.

Sheikh Hasina said the government has been able to bring down the death toll to one digit due to disaster preparedness and the use of modern technology. The present government has reduced the loss of life and property of the people by adopting an 'early management' program from the traditional 'Disaster Response Management' since 2009.
