Import and export activities resumed on Saturday through the Hili land port (HLP) in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur after a six-day pause on the occasions of the Eid-ul-Fitr festivity and historic May Day.

HLP Importers-Exporters' Group President Harun Ur Rashid told BSS that the import-export activities remained suspended through the land port from May 1 to May 6 due to the occasions.

"The imports, exports, customs clearance, loading and unloading of the imported goods resumed today (Saturday) through the port after the six-day holidays," he said.

Indian cargo trucks started arriving at the port in the morning after the vacation.

"After unloading the freight trucks, local trucks also started loading and leaving for different parts of the country with the imported goods," he added.

Officer-in-Charge of the immigration check post (ICP) at HLP Md Bodiuzzaman said movement of passport-visa holder citizens remained normal through the ICP during the period despite closure of import and export activities.
