Police
have recovered the bodies of a mother and two children in Belabo Upazila of Narsingdi.
Their bodies were recovered from Sheikhbari in Patuli Union of the Upazila on
Sunday (May 22) morning.
The
deceased were identified as Rahima Begum, 36, wife of Gias Uddin Sheikh of
Babla village, her son Rabbi Sheikh, 12, and daughter Rakiba Akter, 7. Two of
the children were strangled and Rahima was stabbed to death. Rahima Begum was a
tailor by profession.
According
to the locals, this morning a woman named Bilkis Begum went to Rahima Begum's
house to get the clothes given to her. Going there she saw the bloodstain
through the bottom of the door. Later, when she started shouting, the locals
came and gathered. Neighbors entered the house and saw the bodies of three
people. They later informed the police. Police came and recovered the body.
According
to the police, Rahima's husband is a painter by profession. He went to Gazipur
on Saturday (May 21) for work. He came home in the morning and found the bodies
of his wife and two children lying there.
Narsingdi
Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime) Saheb Ali Pathan said that exactly the reason behind the killings is not clear yet. However, we have begun
an investigation.
