Bangladesh batsmen Liton Das and Mushfiqur Rahim hit their third and ninth century in Tests to rejuvenate Bangladesh’s innings after the Tigers were reduced to 24-5 in the morning session on the first day of the second Test against Sri Lanka at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Monday, reports media.

Liton reached his milestone first, courtesy of an overthrow, as he kept on piling the runs for the Tigers in pressure situations.

First Bangladeshi batsman to reach 5000 test runs, Mushfiq scored back-to-back centuries to pull Bangladesh out of troubled waters.

The pair washed away the morning blues as they put on a 225*-run partnership after the end of 77th over.

Liton remained unbeaten on 127, while a vigilant Mushfiq was not out on 101 runs.
