Home
Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that if BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda
Zia wants to go abroad for treatment, she can go through a legal process subject
to the court's permission.
The
Home Minister was responding to a question from reporters at the inaugural
function of the Delegates Conference-2022 at the Institution of Diploma
Engineers Bangladesh (IDEB) Hall at Kakrail in the capital on Saturday (June
11).
The
home minister said BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is currently a convicted
accused in the case. The Prime Minister has arranged for her treatment as per
the decision of the court. If she has to go abroad for treatment, she must need
the court's consent.
Responding
to another question from reporters, the home minister said it was not true that
police had been attacked in different parts of the country. The incident at
Mohammadpur in the capital is tragic. Those who caused the incident should have
been restrained. It is not right for the police to sit on their hands.
He
said there was security in the country as the police were carrying out their
duties properly. So, the development of the country is going on at an indomitable
pace.
