BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia
has been undergoing treatment at the Evercare Hospital in the capital since
June 10. Doctors at the medical board said the BNP leader could recover if she
was treated abroad.
This was stated by Prof. Dr.
Shahabuddin Talukder and Dr. FM Siddiqui at a press conference on Friday (June
24) afternoon.
They said that new problems arose
after placing the ring on BNP leader Khaleda Zia's heart. There are
complications due to side effects. Meanwhile, Covid infections are increasing
again in the country. Khaleda Zia is being taken home despite the risk of
infection. She will be kept under constant monitoring at home. If complications
arise, she will be brought to the hospital.
They also said that although the
complications of Khaleda Zia's kidney could be solved to some extent, internal
bleeding is the big challenge now. Her treatment is not possible in the
hospital. If she is treated abroad, maybe she will recover.
It may be mentioned that 76-year-old
Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara on June 10 with
chest pain. A quick angiogram was then performed and a stent was placed in her
heart. She is being treated under a medical board headed by the hospital's
special physician Professor Shahabuddin Talukder. Although one block was
removed, doctors said two more blocks were found in Khaleda Zia's heart.
