Biman Starts Direct Hajj Flights from Sylhet Airport

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has started operating dedicated hajj flights from Osmani International Airport for Jeddah, reports media.

Biman's first Hajj flight BG-3131 from Sylhet left for Jeddah with 419 pilgrims at 10:00 am on Tuesday.

The flight will reach Medina at 1:30 pm local time, said a press release on Tuesday.

This year, 60,000 people will go for Hajj from Bangladesh, of which Biman will transport 30,000 pilgrims.

The airlines will operate a total of 67 dedicated flights this year, on the Sylhet-Jeddah route. The next Hajj flight from Sylhet will leave for Jeddah on June 30.

Osmani Airport Director Nowsad Hossain was present as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony.

The guests exchanged greetings with the pilgrims at the holding lounge of Shah Amanat International Airport. Prayers were offered for the pilgrims' welfare. End of the prayers pilgrims were sent off for Medina.
