The Process of Getting Bike Movement Pass

The Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has banned the movement of motorcycles from one district to another in the country. However, in case of 'very urgent', Bangladesh Police has made arrangements for a movement pass to go from one district of the country to another including Dhaka.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of DMP's Media and Public Relations Department Mohammad Farooq Hossain said, "Passes are not being given online like before." This time, for passing the movement, one has to go to the office of the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Traffic Department of the DMP and collect the form. Fill in the form and submit. If the police feel that the applicant needs to go to another district on a motorcycle, he/she will get permission.

According to the police headquarters, movement pass forms will be available in districts outside Dhaka at the office of the Superintendent of Police (SP), police stations, and information centers in each district. The form that will be given to the rider for the movement pass will have two parts. Office copy and rider copy. In both the forms, you have to give the place of travel (district), destination (district), route of travel, reason of travel, date of travel, registration number of motorcycle, number of passengers and mobile number of the rider. If the form is approved by the police officer, the rider's copy will be sealed. The rider will be able to go to the specific destination with that seal.

The headquarters also said that the movement pass is for emergency purposes only and no one can share the ride with it. If the police have such suspicions, their journey may be canceled.

Earlier on Wednesday (July 7), Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed gave permission for a movement pass at a quarterly crime review meeting at Rajarbagh Police Lines.
