UK PM Boris Johnson Resigns

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has resigned. He stepped down as prime minister on Thursday (July 7) following the resignation of his party’s ministers and requests from MPs.

Standing at the door of a government residence on Downing Street that day, Johnson said he had stepped down as prime minister “out of respect for the views of his colleagues”. 

However, the Conservative leader will be the caretaker Prime Minister until the next prime minister takes office.
