5 UK-Based Bangladeshis Found Unconscious in Sylhet; 2 Die

5 members of a UK-Based Bangladeshi family were rescued unconscious from a house in Sylhet. Two of them died on the way to the hospital. The remaining 3 have been admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

They were rescued from a house on Mangalchandi Road in Tajpur Bazar of Osmaninagar Upazila on Tuesday (July 26) afternoon.

The two deceased are Rafiqul Islam (50) and his son Mahikul Islam (16). Rafiqul Islam's wife Hosne Ara Begum (45), his son Sadiqul Islam (25), and daughter Samira Islam (20) are admitted to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in a sick condition.

According to local sources, the family of those five people came to the country from the UK on the 12th. After staying in Dhaka for 6 days, they rented that house in Tajpur on July 18.

Sylhet District Police Superintendent Farid Uddin said from the spot that they may have died due to food poisoning. The matter is being investigated.
