4-Year-Old Boy Charred to Death in Sherpur

A four-year-old boy was charred to death in a fire that engulfed his family house in Sherpur on Friday night, fire officials said, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Ismail Hossain, son of Amir Hossain of Babarchar Baldiapara village in Sribordi Upazila.

The fire broke out at the cowshed of a person, named Ishak Ali, from charcoal bran kept there to drive away mosquitoes around 8 pm and spread quickly to two adjacent dwelling houses, said Ariful Islam, station officer of Sribordi Upazila Fire Service and Civil Defense.

All the occupants of the two houses, except the child, managed to get out, he said.

On information, a fire tender was rushed to the spot. After the flames were doused, firemen recovered the charred body of the boy from one of the houses.
