The
members of the medical board formed for the treatment of BNP chairperson Begum
Khaleda Zia sat in a meeting to review the overall treatment. Specialist
doctors from London and America are involved in the meeting. Khaleda Zia's
daughter-in-law Dr Zobaida Rahman is coordinating the whole matter.
It
should be noted that 78-year-old Khaleda Zia has been suffering from various
complications including heart block, arthritis, diabetes, kidney, lung and eye
problems for a long time.
After
being admitted to Evercare Hospital last year, the doctors also reported that
he was suffering from bleeding in the digestive tract and cirrhosis of the
liver.
Although
the family and BNP applied several times for better treatment abroad, the
government rejected it each time citing legal obligations. Currently, he is
undergoing treatment under the supervision of a medical board headed by
Professor Shahabuddin Talukder, a specialist doctor at Evercare Hospital.
