Woman Allegedly Killed by Husband in C'nawabganj

A woman was hacked to death allegedly by her husband over a family feud in Shibganj Upazila of Chapainawabganj district Sunday evening, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Rina Begum, 30, wife of Monirul Islam in Kamalakantapur village of the Upazila.

Asaduzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibganj Police Station said the couple used to fight since their marriage.

Monirul stabbed his wife on Sunday afternoon, leaving her seriously injured, he said.

Rina was first taken to Chapainawabganj Sadar Hospital. Later, she was referred to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital with first aid.

Rina died on the way to Rajshahi Medical College, added the OC.

Monirul remains absconding since the incident.

The body has been kept in the hospital morgue, OC Asaduzzaman said.
