BERC Cuts LPG Price by Tk 35 Per Cylinder

Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) has cut the price of a 12 kg cylinder of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Tk 35 to Tk 1,200.

The new prices for the month of October were announced in a press conference on the virtual platform today, Sunday (October 2).

It is known that the price of LPG per kg has been fixed at 101 taka 1 paisa in October, which was 102 taka 88 paisa in September, before that, it was 101 taka 62 paisa in last August.

Meanwhile, the price of 12 kg in September will be 1 thousand 200 taka in October which was 1 thousand 235 taka in September, 1 thousand 219 taka in August.

On the other hand, the commission fixed the price of autogas used as vehicle fuel at 55 taka 92 paisa per liter for the month of October, which was 57 taka 55 paisa per liter in the month of September. Accordingly, compared to September, the price has decreased by 1 taka 63 paisa in October.

Apart from this, the price of LPG for domestic users has also decreased slightly. The price of reticulated LPG in gaseous state was Tk 0.22 per liter in September, it decreased to Tk 0.21 in October.

It was informed in the press conference, Saudi Aramco's announced Saudi CP (contract price) of propane and butane for the month of October is USD 590 and USD 560 per metric ton, respectively. The Commission fixed this price considering the average Saudi CP of propane and butane at US$ 570.50 per metric ton as propane and butane ratio of 35:65.
