PM Warns against Harassment of Hajj Pilgrims

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has warned to take strict action against the agencies if they harass the Hajj pilgrims.

The premier gave this warning at the inauguration of the National Hajj and Umrah Management Conference and Fair on Thursday (November 17).

The head of government joined the fair organized at Bangabandhu International Conference Center in the capital from Ganabhaban. The three-day long fair will end next Saturday (November 19).

Sheikh Hasina said, our election manifesto was digitization. After we came to power, we digitized the Hajj system.

Expressing the government's sincerity in alleviating the sufferings of Hajj pilgrims, the head of government said, "I have always gone to Hajj at the invitation of the King of Saudi Arabia. I went there and saw the problems of Hajis (Hajj pilgrims) myself. From there I worked to reduce the suffering of Hajis."

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, Minister of State for Religion Md Faridul Haque Khan, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Md Mahbub Ali, Saudi Arabia's ambassador to Bangladesh were present at the event.
