Painting Exhibition of 11 Artists 'Nakshi' Opens at Safiuddin Shilpalay

The exhibition 'Nakshi' started with the paintings of 11 artists of the 'Adyopanto' artist group at Safiuddin Shilpalay in Dhanmondi of the capital.

The exhibition, which started on Friday afternoon with 44 paintings, was inaugurated by renowned painter Abul Barak Alvi, Professor of the Printmaking Department of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dhaka University. Renowned painter Sheikh Afzal Hossain was present as the special guest.

The paintings featured in the exhibition were painted by artists during a three-day art camp at Nakshi village in Sherpur's Jhenaigati last year.

The organizer of this art camp was writer, ornithologist, and photographer Inam Al Haque. He also presided over the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

In the opening ceremony, Inam Al Haque said, "This exhibition titled 'Nakshi' is a reflection of the artists in the art camp of Nakshi Village who have portrayed the innermost beauty of nature on their canvases."

The guests wished the success of the exhibition and the artists at the opening ceremony.

The 11 artists participating in the exhibition are Dhali Tomal, Farzana Bobby, Ishrat Jahan, Konok Aditya, Mamun Hossain, Nargis Punam, Nazmul Haque, Shakti Noman, Tania Haque, Upma Dash, and Jemrina Haque.

The exhibition will be open to all from 10 am to 8 pm daily till November 29. Safiuddin Shilpalay is located at house number 21A on road number 4 of Dhanmondi.
