Gold Price Hits Record Tk 87,247 per bhori

Jewellers have increased gold price by Tk 3,033 per bhori (11.664g), taking the price of a bhori of 22-carat gold to a record Tk 87,247.

The Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) on Saturday announced the latest hike in all types of gold prices as the rate of pure gold went up in the local market, according to a press release.

The revised prices will come into effect from Sunday until further notice, the association said.

According to the new rate, 22-carat gold will cost Tk 87,247 per bhori, which was Tk 84,214 a bhori previously.

Besides, the local market will sell 21-carat gold at Tk 83,281, instead of Tk 80,365 and 18-carat gold at Tk 71,384 which was sold at Tk 68,934 a bhori earlier.

The price for traditional method gold has been set at Tk 59,486, which was Tk 56,687 per bhori.

However, BAJUS has kept the price of silver unchanged.
