Saddam, Sheikh Enan Made New President, GS of BCL

Saddam Hossain and Sheikh Walid Asif Enan have been made new president and general secretary (GS) respectively of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) for the next two years.

Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina approved the new committee. On behalf of the party president, AL General Secretary Obaidul Quader announced the new committee on Tuesday night after emerging from the premier’s official Ganabhaban residence, reports BSS.

Committees of BCL’s Dhaka University, Dhaka city north and south units were also announced on the occasion.

Mazharul Kabir Shayan and Tanbir Hasan Shaikat have been made president and general secretary respectively of the Dhaka University unit of BCL.

Riaz Mahmud and Sagar Ahmed became president and GS respectively of the Dhaka City North Unit of BCL while Rajibul Islam and Sajal Kundu have been made president and GS respectively of the Dhaka City South unit of the organisation.

On December 6, BCL’s national council was held at the historic Suhrawardy Udyan while Dhaka City North and South units’ councils were held on December 2 at the Udyan and the DU unit’s council was held on December 3 on the premises of Aparajeyo Bangla on the university campus.
