Bus-Three Wheeler Collision Leaves 3 dead in Chandpur

Three men were killed and one was injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw at Ghosher Haat area along the Chandpur-Cumilla highway in Chandpur Sadar upazila earlier on Wednesday, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Habibur Rahman, 25, a resident of Matlab Dakshin upazila; Nesar Ahmed Hawladar, 25, a fish trader and resident of the Wapda Gate precinct of Chandpur city; and Mahabub Pradhaniya, 50, resident of Bishnupur village in the Sadar upazila.

Abdur Rashid, officer-in-charge of Chandpur Sadar Police Station, said that the accident occurred when a CNG-run auto-rickshaw overtook a truck and collided head-on with a bus - leaving three passengers dead on the spot.

The police seized the wreckage of the auto-rickshaw and the truck, said the OC, adding that the bodies will be handed over to their families after completing the legal formalities.
