Khaleda Zia's Sentence to Be Suspended by 6 More Months

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan said that the suspension of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's sentence will be extended by another 6 months under the previous conditions.

He confirmed this information to the media on Thursday afternoon.

Earlier, in a press conference at the Secretariat, Law Minister Anisul Haque said that the Law Ministry has received the letter sent by the Ministry of Home Affairs regarding the suspension of Khaleda Zia's sentence subject to conditions. But, no feedback has been given yet. The conditions that were earlier regarding the suspension of Khaleda Zia's sentence will remain the same in the future.

Khaleda Zia's younger brother Shamim Iskandar applied to the Ministry of Home Affairs on March 6 to extend the release period.
