Calling 999 Would Be A Solution If Car Troubles on Highway During Eid Journey

The Highway Police has taken special initiatives to make the Eid journey smooth and comfortable. They will even provide with mechanics if the car breaks down on the highway. 

To get the benefit, all you have to do is just to call 999.

Police have collected the phone numbers of local garage mechanics and listed them so that if vehicle breaks down on the road, they can be repaired quickly.

Highway Police Chief Additional IGP AKM Shahabuddin Khan yesterday (19 April) revealed this information to reporters after inspecting the road at Baipail Trimor area of Nabinagar-Chandra highway in Ashulia.

He said the initiative will help maintain traffic movement during the Eid rush. He hoped that despite the expected rush, the Eid journey will be comfortable this time.

Deputy Inspector General of Highway Police Mahfuzur Rahman, Additional DIG Barkatullah Khan, Additional DIG Shyamal Kumar Mukherjee, Gazipur Region Superintendent of Police Mostafizur Rahman, and Additional Superintendent of Police (Dhaka District North Traffic Police) Abdullah Hill Kafi were present.
