Miscreants hacked a village policeman to death in Kumri area of Narail's Lohagara upazila on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Bakul Sheikh, 42, son of Badir Sheikh of Kumri village in the upazila, reports UNB.

Rakib Sheikh, son of the deceased, said that his father had enmity with Pagal and Aynal of the village.

They both used to commit robbery and when police arrested them, they blamed his father for their arrest.

Around 7 pm on Sunday, Ajmal, Aynal, Hussain Sheikh, Rubel, Mahmud, and Yamin stabbed his father indiscriminately, leaving him dead on the spot, he alleged.

Police visited the spot after the crime, said Nasir Uddin, officer-in-charge of Lohagara police station.

Efforts are on to arrest the culprits, added the OC.
