The owner of the famous chatbot, OpenAI, said on Tuesday (25 July) that ChatGPT is now accessible to Android users in Brazil, Bangladesh, India, and the United States in an effort to capitalize on the growing popularity of the AI tool.

The San Francisco-based OpenAI company last week released ChatGPT for Android in an effort to increase its user base as AI becomes more often utilized in jobs like content creation and coding.

The Sam Altman-led startup introduced ChatGPT in November of last year, and it has been accessible on Apple's iOS system since May.

The viral success of ChatGPT has triggered a wave of enthusiasm in AI, prompting companies such as Microsoft and Google-parent Alphabet to pour billions of dollars into the technology.

OpenAI said it would expand the rollout on Android to additional countries over the next week.
