DMP Commissioner Khandkar Ghulam Faruq said that the two political parties will be allowed to hold a rally if there is sufficient security force after ensuring security and VVIP movement during holy Ashura.

He said this in response to a question from journalists on Thursday (July 27) at noon.

He said, next July 29 is the biggest religious event of the Shia community. As there is security and VVIP movement in Ashura, both the parties have been advised to hold the rally at the ground, but if adequate security personnel can be arranged, the two parties may be allowed to hold the rally at their preferred place.

In response to a question, the DMP Commissioner said, 'Searches are being conducted at various places in the capital to ensure the safety of the gathering. No one is being arrested except the accused under warrant.

Meanwhile there is still uncertainty about the rally venue of the two main political parties in the capital.

Earlier BNP had been asked to perform their rally at Golapbagh by DMP. On the other hand after getting no permission due to security reason Awami League shifted their rally towards Bitul mukarram.

Finally BNP wants to hold a rally in Nayapaltan and Chhatra League, Jubo League and Svechasevak League decided at the south gate of National Mosque Baitul Mukarram. But DMP is still in a strict position on this.
