As part of the party's sit-in, BNP leaders and members set three buses on fire in the Dhaka suburb of Matuail today.

Since the empty Tisha Paribahan bus was parked next to the road at the time, no one was wounded.

Police arrived on the scene with a water cannon as soon as they were informed of the situation and attempted to put out the fire.

Since the early hours of the morning, there have been periodic clashes between party members and law officers. To separate the gathering, police have used baton charges and tear gas.
