The verdict in a graft case against BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman and his wife Zubaida Rahman is made public by a court in Dhaka.

The decision will be made public at 3 p.m. by Senior Special Judge Md Asaduzzaman of the Dhaka Metropolitan.

According to police inspector Faruqul Islam of the Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court, police are on high alert to prevent any unfavorable circumstances related to the decision.

Out of the 56 witnesses, the evidence of 42 has already been recorded by the court. The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) anticipated the most severe penalties.

On September 26, 2007, the ACC filed a lawsuit against Tarique Rahman, his wife Zubaida Rahman, and his mother-in-law Iqbal-Mand Banu for hiding information about the asset and accumulating unlawful money totaling Tk 4.81 crore.

The lower court in question accepted the allegations made against the pair and issued arrest warrants for them on November 1, 2022. The pair was summoned by the court in a gazette that was published on February 6, 2023.
