A gas line leaking led to an explosion that injured five family members, including a kid, early on Monday in the capital's Juraine neighborhood.
The explosion took at about two in the morning.
At the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, injured Md Atahar, 35, his wife Mukta Khatun, 30, their daughter Afsana, 5, Mukta's father Md Altaf Shikder, 72, and Mukta's mother Morjina Begum, 50, are receiving medical attention.
The injured were taken to the hospital by Md Mahbub, who stated, "The explosion occurred at the home named 'Mannan Master' in Solimullah Road from Titas gas line leakage about 2am. At 3 AM, you were rushed to the hospital.
According to Dr Toriqul Islam, a resident at the Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery, Atahar was taken to the hospital with 50% burns, Mukta with 45%, Afsana with 25%, Marjina with 5%, and Altaf with 2% burns.
The doctor said, "Atahar, his wife, and their child are in critical condition."
