Mehnaz Mishu, a leader of the Jubo Mohila League, has been expelled from the group after being charged of torturing and photographing an unclothed young girl in Savar.
Mehnaz Mishu was suspended on Saturday night, according to a statement signed by General Secretary Sharmin Sultana Lilly and Jubo Mohila League President Daisy Sarwar.
According to Officer-in-Charge Deepak Chandra Saha, police detained the Jubo League leader earlier on Saturday after receiving a complaint from the mother of the juvenile victim at the Savar Model police station.
Later, the complaint was recorded as a case, said the OC.
The mother of the victim is the joint general secretary of the Jubo Mohila League chapter in Dhaka North.
The case statement claims that Mishu photographed a girl after stripping her. It is also claimed that the girl was mistreated and drugged. It further alleges that Mishu threw the youngster from the fifth-floor balcony in an effort to murder her.
Daisy Sarwar, president of the Jubo Mohila League, stated that Mishi had been suspended for non-organizational activity in this respect.
