Around midday, a train struck a police vehicle in the Sitakunda upazila of Chattogram, killing three police officers and injuring two more.
It took some time to identify the deceased.
According to Officer-in-Charge of Sitakunda Police Station Md Tofayel Ahmed and our staff correspondent, the accident happened at the Fakirhat Level Crossing about 12:30 p.m.
Nur Alam Ashek, sub-inspector of Chattogram Medical College Hospital police outpost, told The Daily Star, "Three were brought dead at the CMCH emergency department."
Chattogram Railway Superintendent of Police, Md Hasan Chowdhury, said, "We are on our way to the spot to investigate, details will be shared later."
