Two Bike Riders Lost Their Lives in Road Accidents

At least two motorbike riders lost their lives on Sunday due to road accidents in Bogura and Sylhet.

According to a Sylhet-based journalist, a motorbike was killed while traveling between Sylhet and Sunamganj.

Badsha Miah from Noagaon, a resident of Sylhet, was identified as the deceased.

Locals claim that a truck leaving Sunamganj collided with a motorbike near the village of Dhanpur on the Sylhet-Sunamganj regional highway, instantly killing the rider.

The Jalalabad police station officer-in-charge Saiful Alam Rokan said that the body was sent to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The police officer stated that "the truck driver and his helper fled the scene immediately after the incident," adding that the truck and motorbike involved in the collision were impounded at the scene.

In Shibganj in Bogura, another rider was crushed beneath the wheels of a covered vehicle.

Nazrul Islam, who was identified as the dead, was a native of the Gabtali village of Sultanpur.

According to locals, the accident happened in the Mahasthan Hatibandha region along the Bogura-Rangpur route.

Aminul Islam, the in charge of the Gobindaganj highway police, stated that a case was being investigated after the police confiscated the covered van.
