The Dhaka Elevated Expressway was being built when the Titas gas line ruptured, cutting off the flow of gas to nearby towns.

After learning of the problem on Sunday evening, the Titas technical team began fixing the pipeline, work that is still ongoing as of Monday morning.

The villagers reportedly smelled gas on Sunday night at 10 o'clock, followed by a sudden loud explosion. An excavator working on the elevated freeway ruptured the Titas line, triggering a gas leak.

After receiving the information, the Titas Gas Company's technical team arrived at the scene at 11 p.m.

Al Amin, a public relations representative for Titas Gas, said that while building the elevated road, employees hurt the pipeline. About five to six locations require welding.

According to him, the gas supply was cut off to prevent mishaps. The two valves are shut. It cut off the gas supply to the Wireless region and other surrounding places.

Approximately 5 feet of piping had been destroyed in 8 feet of earth, he added. The dirt will be dug out and cleaned in preparation for pipeline welding. By midday, Titas intended to have the job finished and the gas ready to go.
