Husband Dies, Wife Burnt in Chattogram Gas Cylinder Blast

At their home in the Halishahar neighborhood of Chattagram, a gas cylinder burst early on Monday, killing a man and injuring his wife.

Abdul Khalek, 65, was recognized as the dead.  

The couple was hurt in the accident that happened at approximately two in the morning in ward 38 of the South Halishahar neighborhood, according to Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) Police Outpost in-charge SI Noor Alam Ashek.

They were rescued and rushed to the CMCH where the duty doctors declared the man dead, he said.

His wife Anwara Begum, 60, was first admitted to CMCH and she is being taken to Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn & Plastic Surgery as her condition deteriorated.
