151 Bangladeshi migrants stuck in Libya have returned home. The plane carrying them landed at Shahjalal International Airport today, Tuesday (September 5).

Bangladesh's Ambassador to Libya, Major General Abul Hasan Mohammad Khairul Bashar, bid farewell to the Bangladeshi migrants at Benina Airport in Benghazi. At the time, he said, with the help of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), arrangements had been made to rescue Bangladeshi migrants in danger from detention centers in different parts of Libya and send them home.

At the Libyan airport, the Bangladeshi ambassador informed them about the various steps taken by the Bangladesh government for the welfare of the expatriates. In particular, he informed them about the Bangladesh government's protection of expatriates' rights, providing incentives for sending remittances through legal channels and bringing expatriates under the universal pension.

He also highlighted various dangerous aspects of illegal immigration and advised them to avoid such a path in the future. He also requested that these Bangladeshis participate in the awareness campaign to prevent illegal immigration back home.

Earlier, the migrants were staying at a shelter in Gunfuda, Benghazi.
