Coal for Rampal Power Plant Reached Mongla

Commercial ships with Panama’s flag arrived at Mongla Port with 29,630 metric tons of coal for Rampal thermal power plant.

The commercial ship anchored at Harbaria of Mongla Port at 9:30 am on Sunday (September 10). The coal discharge of the ship has already started.

Earlier on August 15, the ship left Indonesia for Bangladesh with 53 thousand 630 metric tons of coal. Later 24 thousand metric tons of coal was discharged at Chittagong port. The ship arrived at Mongla Port with the remaining 29,630 metric tons of coal.

Assistant Manager (Khulna) Khandaker Riazul Haque of M/s Togi Shipping and Logistics Limited, the local shipping agent of the ship, said that the unloading of coal from the anchored ship has started in the morning. After unloading, lighter ships will be taken to the jetty of the thermal power plant.

On August 28, another Panama-flagged commercial ship arrived at Mongla Port with 30,950 metric tons of coal for Rampal thermal power plant.
