Khaleda’s Stay Out Of Jail Extended Further

BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia's release period has been extended by 6 months by the Home Ministry's Security Services Division.

This period has been extended on the condition. According to the conditions, Khaleda would not be able to go abroad and she has to take treatment at her residence.

Former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia was in jail for almost two years from February 8, 2018, in the Zia Orphanage Trust and Zia Charitable Trust corruption cases.

The government suspended the sentence and released Khaleda Zia on two conditions on March 25, 2020.

At that time, there was a coronavirus epidemic in the country. Since then, his release period has been extended every six months on the plea of the family.
