The Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Dr Adhanom Ghebreyesus, held a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Yesterday, on Monday (September 18th), a meeting and discussion took place between the two at the United Nations Secretariat.
Additionally, the Prime Minister is currently in New York to participate in the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. The session, titled "Trust, Rejuvenation, and Rebuilding of the World," began at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on Monday.
This year, alongside discussions on international development and climate issues, the Ukraine-Russia conflict will also take center stage at the General Assembly. The General Debate will continue until September 26.
Today, Tuesday (September 19th), the high-level General Debate will begin. She will deliver her speech between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM local time on September 22.
Before this, on Sunday night at 10:50 PM local time, Sheikh Hasina reached New York to participate in the United Nations General Assembly.
During the assembly, she will participate in several high-level meetings. Besides, in the evening, President Joe Biden of the United States invited Sheikh Hasina to an invocation ceremony. Furthermore, the Prime Minister can participate in bilateral meetings with the heads of state and governments of various countries, including Malaysia, Thailand, Denmark, and Sri Lanka.
In addition to these, Sheikh Hasina is also likely to participate in several events, including a high-level discussion on the "Climate Ambition Summit," as per the invitation of the UN Secretary-General.
