Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said that it is not possible to treat BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia abroad without court permission.

He told these things to the reporters at the secretariat on Sunday (September 24).

Home Minister said that Begum Khaleda Zia is a convicted accused. No application has been made by his family for treatment abroad. And the treatment abroad is not possible without the permission of the court.

He said that the period of suspension of Khaleda Zia's sentence is being extended in phases. However, no application was made by his family for treatment abroad. The Ministry of Home Affairs has nothing to do with the treatment of foreigners, in this case, the court will decide.

He also said that it is their jurisdiction to grant visas to the United States. Home Ministry has not received any list of those covered by the US visa policy. 

Earlier, on the night of August 9, Khaleda Zia was admitted to Evercare Hospital for a health check-up. Since then he has been under treatment at the hospital under the supervision of Professor Dr. Shahabuddin Talukder. Doctors said that Khaleda Zia is in critical condition with liver, heart, and kidney problems.
