The Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) has directed schools and colleges across the country to observe Sheikh Russel Day on October 18. The order was issued on Wednesday (October 11) in an order signed by Rupak Roy, assistant director of DSHE.

According to the instructions, wreaths will be placed on Sheikh Russel's portrait in their respective offices on Sheikh Russel Day. In all educational institutions (schools and colleges) of the country, discussion meetings and doa mahfils should be organized in the presence of students.

Wall magazines should be published in every educational institution. Stories, poems, creative writing, and pictures should be presented on the wall. The best essays selected from each educational institution (one for each class) should be sent by e-mail ([email protected]) by October 30.

It is also said that at least 10 trees should be planted in every educational institution in memory of Shaheed Sheikh Russel. Any program compatible with the day with the participation of students in educational institutions should be organized in a joyful atmosphere under their own management. Joyful rallies, beautiful handwriting competitions, painting competition, essay competitions, and quiz competitions should be organized.
