President Off To Singapore For Treatment

President Mohammed Shahabuddin left Dhaka for Singapore to undergo treatment on Monday (October 16).

A commercial flight (BG-584) of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited, carrying the President, his spouse Dr. Rebecca Sultana and other entourage members, took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) at about 8:50 am.

Liberation War Affairs Minister AKM Mozammel Huq, dean of the diplomatic corps, cabinet secretary, chiefs of the three services, foreign secretary, inspector general of police (IGP), consul of Singapore in Bangladesh and senior civil and military officials concerned saw the President off at the airport.

During his 15-day visit to Singapore, President Shahabuddin is scheduled to have his treatment at Mount Elizabeth Hospital there.

The Head of the State is expected to return home on October 30, according to programme schedule. _ BSS
