A case has been filed against the man, Mian Zahidul Islam Arefi who went to BNP's central office on Saturday evening claiming himself as an adviser to US President Joe Biden.
A man named Mohiuddin Shikder filed a case against him at the Paltan Police Station of the capital on Sunday (October 29) night.
Apart from Arefi, BNP leader Ishrak Hossain and retired Lt General Hasan Sorawardi have been accused in the case. Paltan Police Station OC Mo Salauddin Mia confirmed the case to the media.
Meanwhile, Mian Zahidul Islam Arefi (Mia Arefi), the alleged adviser of US President Joe Biden, has been arrested by Metropolitan Detective (DB) police.
Paltan police sources said that the investigating officer of the case is SI Suzanur Islam. A case has been registered against the accused under section 419/409 of the Penal Code. They have been charged with breach of trust by false identity.
Only Arefi was arrested in this incident and is in the custody of DB Police and the rest are absconding.
According to the affidavit of the case, the BNP activists started throwing bricks and stones at the police from the protest at around 12:30 noon on Saturday (October 28).
At one stage, the angry workers clashed with the police from Kakrail Corner to Arambagh. Various institutions including the Chief Justice's official residence, government buildings, and government vehicles were set on fire.
41 policemen were injured and one member was killed in the clash. At one stage, the central leaders of the BNP announced the suspension of the general meeting around 3 p.m. After this activity of BNP, at least 20 leaders and activists appeared in front of several media at the BNP central office on Saturday evening between 6:00 and 7:00.
Earlier, on October 28, Mian Zahidul Islam Arefi held a press conference at the BNP office claiming himself as an adviser to US President Joe Biden. Immigration police arrested him from the airport on Sunday (October 29) and handed him over to DB.
