Commenting that there is no room for political violence in a democracy, US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas called for unconditional dialogue. He said that political violence in elections is not desirable in any way.

He said this to reporters after a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal on Tuesday (October 31).

Earlier, Peter Haas' meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner started at 10 a.m. US Embassy official Arturo Hines was also present in the meeting.

Earlier, Ambassador Peter Haas met with the Chief Election Commissioner on August 1 this year.

After the meeting, Kazi Habibul Awal said that a favorable environment is needed for elections. The crisis that prevails is political. Our work has no conflict with it. But if these problems are solved politically, then it will be very comfortable for us to hold elections.
