Launch services between Barishal and other parts of the country recommenced on Saturday morning following a 24-hour suspension due to the cyclonic storm Midhili. Abdur Razzaque, a river port official of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA), stated that launches resumed operation at 7 am as the impact of cyclone Midhili subsided.

Earlier, BIWTA had halted the operations of all types of river vessels from 10:00 am on Friday due to adverse weather conditions caused by the cyclone.

Simultaneously, the roads in various parts of Barishal city became submerged due to the rainfall triggered by the cyclone. Residents of Battala, Srinath Chatarjee Lane, and Bogura Road have found themselves trapped in 2 feet of water since the cyclone affected the coastal areas of the country.
