BSU DU Elects New Body

A new committee has come to the charge of Bangladesh Student Union (BSU), Dhaka University (DU) unit.

A Press note contains this details was sent to press on Sunday (November 19).

It is read, BSU DUs' 35th Council took place with the slogan 'Etihasher day Dhaka bisshobiddaloye hobe na soiracharer thai'. In the council meeting the councilors unanimously announced the new committee with Meghmallar Bosu as the president, Main Ahmed as the general secretary and Arni Anjum as the organizing secretary.

Notably, Md. Abdul Jalil AKA Swapan Mama inaugurated the assembly of the 35th conference of DU Sangsad at Bottala of Kalabhavan at 12:00am on November 16.

Former Jahangirnagar University teacher-Anthropologist-Activist Rehnuma Ahmed, Student Union's former central general secretary and labor leader Liton Nandi and Bangladesh Student Union's central president Ragib Naeem were present as speakers. The outgoing committee president Shimul Kumbhakar presided over the meeting.

The council session was presided over by outgoing committee president Shimul Kumbhakar and moderated by outgoing general secretary Adnan Aziz Chowdhury. Ragib Naeem, Central President of Students Union, was present in the Council as the central representative.

At the beginning of the council, the condolence motion was raised and after 1 minute silence, the report of General Secretary, Organizational Secretary and Finance Secretary was presented. After that, the election session started with the dissolution of the committee and the formation of the subject selection committee, where after a long discussion of the councilors, a committee consisting of 25 members was formed leaving 1 post vacant.

Council president Shimul Kumbhakar administered the oath to the newly elected committee members.
