Fire On Train: 9 Suspected Saboteurs Arrested

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained nine people for their alleged involvement in setting the Mohanganj Express train on fire in the capital’s Tejgaon.

The identities of the detainees could not be known instantly.

In a press conference around 12:00am on Thursday (December 21), RAB-1 commander Lieutenant Colonel Muhammad Mostak Ahmed said after getting the list of suspected criminals, RAB conducted several drives and detained them.

In a joint operation with the National Security Intelligence (NSI), the elite force raided the Airport Railway Station area on Thursday evening.

On Tuesday (19 December), three coaches of the passenger train Mohanganj Express were set on fire by unknown individuals. Four people, including a mother and her baby, were killed in the incident.
