Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Anwar Hossain has said that additional security measures have been taken at polling centers considered vulnerable.
“All kinds of security measures have been taken for the polling day (Jan 7) so that voters can come to the polling stations without any problem,” he said in a briefing at the police headquarters on Saturday (Dec 30).
The DIG said, “Since the BNP’s Oct 28 vandalism incident in Dhaka, no one has been arrested based on their political identity. There were specific cases against those arrested.”
“Special surveillance will continue on professional criminals who are out on bail,” he said.
DIG Anwar said, “There is no intelligence about sabotage on Thirty-first Night."
