The first four hours of voting in the 12th parliamentary election saw a voter turnout of 18.50 percent, according to Election Commission Secretary Jahangir Alam.
Voting has also been cancelled at three centres -- one in Narsingdi and two in Narayanganj. Polling at five centres had been suspended but has now resumed.
The 12th national election began on Sunday (January 7) morning with people queuing up outside polling centres, despite the ongoing hartal called by BNP-Jamaat and a few other political parties will continue till 4pm.
